A butterfly weft is a fine, flexible weft designed to fold back on itself to double the density in one flat row. It's one of the few weft styles that needs no sewing, so full, seamless rows go in faster.

While weft extensions don’t directly cause new hair growth, their even weight distribution can reduce tension on the scalp compared to other methods. This may support a healthier environment for your natural hair by minimising breakage and strain. With proper installation and aftercare, many clients notice their hair feels fuller and healthier over time.

With correct aftercare, curly hair extensions typically last around 6 to 9 months. The process that sets the curl into the hair makes it a little more delicate than straight hair, so curly hair has a slightly shorter lifespan.

The curl pattern itself typically lasts around 6 months. Some natural loosening is normal over that time, and it is accelerated by excessive washing and high heat styling. Following our curly aftercare routine keeps the hair and the curl at their best for longer.

Lengths are measured with the hair pulled straight. Once the curl settles, expect 1 to 3 inches of shrinkage depending on the pattern, with the tightest curls (Classic Curl and Corkscrew Curl) at the upper end. Order by the finished length your client wants, plus that allowance.

Treat curly extensions like natural curly hair. Our recommended aftercare:

1. Hydrate daily. Lightly mist with water and leave-in conditioner to keep curls soft, hydrated and defined. Focus on mid-lengths and ends.
2. Detangle gently. Always detangle when damp, using your fingers or a wide-tooth comb. Start at the ends and work upwards.
3. Define and refresh. Gently scrunch curls to restore their shape. Apply a small amount of lightweight hair oil to seal in moisture and reduce frizz.
4. Wash less, condition more. Wash only when necessary to preserve curl definition and prevent dryness. Use a gentle, sulphate-free shampoo followed by a hydrating conditioner or mask.
5. Protect overnight. Loosely braid or gather curls before bed and sleep on silk or satin to minimise tangling and friction.
6. Minimise heat. Allow curls to air-dry whenever possible. Avoid excessive heat styling and always use heat protection.

Yes, with heat protection, as they are 100% Russian Remy human hair. The curl is set into the hair, so it returns once washed and left to dry naturally. Frequent high heat and excessive washing will gradually relax the pattern.
