Frequently Asked Questions

What is a flat tip hair extension?
+

Flat tip hair extensions are a type of pre-bonded extension that use a flat, keratin bond to attach securely to the natural hair. The flat shape allows for a flexible, discreet hold that blends seamlessly with your own hair. When applied correctly by a professional, flat tip extensions are comfortable, long-lasting, and virtually undetectable.

At Blush+Wren, flat tip extensions are sold as our K-Tip range.

How long do K-tip (flat tip) extensions last?
+

K-tip extensions are typically refitted every 8-12 weeks, and the hair lasts 6-12 months or more with proper care. The flat keratin bond is fused with a heat connector for a long-wearing, low-profile hold.

What is a Mini K-tip and why use it?
+

A Mini K-tip is a smaller, ready-made keratin bond (0.8g) built for fine and delicate hair. It saves you cutting standard K-tips down and re-tipping them yourself for discreet placements - the smaller bond comes pre-made, so application is faster and more consistent.

How long do I-Tip extensions last?
+

I-Tip extensions typically require maintenance every 6-10 weeks and can last from 6-12+ months with correct aftercare. The individual strands are attached using small, reusable beads, allowing for discreet placement and easy repositioning as your hair grows.

What is the difference between I-Tip and Flat Tip extensions?
+

Both I-Tip and Flat Tip extensions are strand-by-strand methods but they differ in shape and application. I-Tips, also known as stick tips, are applied with a single bead. Whereas Flat Tips are flat keratin glue bonds applied with heat and rolled into the hair. Your stylist may recommend one over the other depending on your hair type and styling needs.

At Blush+Wren the flat tip is our K-Tip; both are available across the full 70-shade range.
